As a not for profit regional GIS organization, SERIC has over the years developed significant relationships with a range of government agencies and other organizations, culminating in a number of agreements to acquire, hold and utilize data on behalf of its partners. SERIC sees itself as the “honest broker” in terms of the region and its data.
Membership provides access to data and products developed from data, subject to data sharing agreements, that organizations would not be able to access in the normal course of events. It provides the benefits of coordinated approaches to the acquisition of data and maximizes the purchasing power of organizations in obtaining data of regional significance such as aerial imagery and the Digital Elevation Model.
